Getting organised

We are lucky in Snowdonia. Even though we live at the foot of one of the most popular peaks in the world, if you know when and where to go you'll find it's pretty easy to get around as well as have enough wild-spaces all to yourself.

How to get here

Snowdonia is easily accessed by car, train and ferry, while we are less than two hours drive from either Liverpool or Manchester airport.

  • Car

The best way to get around Snowdonia is by vehicle.

Llanberis is easily accessed by car from most directions and even at the busiest times, we don't tend to have a problem with traffic once in the park. Check your travel times & directions on google maps.

  • Train

North Wales is well connected by rail from most parts of Britain.

The closest railway station is located in Bangor. Once in Bangor, there are taxis (usually £30 each way) or buses that will take you to Llanberis. Search the Trainline for availability.

  • Plane

The nearest airports are Liverpool or Manchester.

Once you arrive at the airport, there are options for a train, bus or taxi to get to Llanberis, but hiring a car is your best option. If you live in Cardiff there is a little airport on Anglesey, around 26 miles from Llanberis. There are no facilities for hiring cars, however, many car hire companies offer a meet & greet service at the airport for bookings made in advance.

  • Ferry

It's easy to get here from Ireland, just jump on the ferry to Holyhead.

The Dublin to Holyhead connection is very popular so book as soon as you can. Once you arrive, if you have a car it's an easy 40min drive to Llanberis. If you are planning the trip without a car, there are options to take the train to Bangor. Have a look at combined deals for train and sail.

There is a wide range of options for where to stay in Snowdonia, but we've listed a few of our favourites places online to search.

  • Our Cottage on Airbnb

If you have a group or family that would like to join you when you come here, have a look at our sweet little cottage just 5-10mins drive from Llanberis, otherwise just go ahead and search the facility, there are loads of places to stay.

  • Dol Peris Guesthouse

If you are travelling on your own Dol Peris is ideal. Cosy rooms nicely laid out and plenty of space for guests to cook in the kitchen, or to lounge around in the various rooms. It's conveniently situated right in the center of town with easy access to cafes and stores and we usually do our theory sessions just 2mins walk away.
